Spring Activities in Lake Chelan

Spring is here and the sun is FINALLY starting to shine! Witness the hilltops surrounding Lake Chelan turn a majestic green as the snow melts and the valley begins to warm up.

Outdoor enthusiasts across the state are breathing a sigh of relief as the start of this season also means the opening of everyone's favorite trails, activities and parks. At Echo Valley Resort and Cabins, we eat, sleep and breathe outdoor fun - with some of the best recreation right outside our door!

Echo Valley Bike and Hiking Trails

Echo Valley Resort is at the heart of several biking and hiking trails ranging in levels of difficulty and expertise. Whether looking for a rugged dirt road experience, or a paved, easy-to-ride route, biking trails like the Shoe Trail Head or the Upsey-Daisy will surely please the whole group!

Ditch the bike and climb with your own two feet when you dare to conquer the Whoop-Di-Do loop, or easily stroll through the Morning Glory trail. You can find access to all Echo Ridge trails on our website under the “recreation” tab!

Golf

Before the intensity of the heat hits and past the chilly snow of winter, spring is the perfect time to play a round of golf! The valley offers several courses, all with a unique atmosphere and challenging layout. Lake Chelan Municipal Golf Course and Bear Mountain Ranch are in the immediate area, but if you want to expand your horizons, we suggest heading to Gamble Sands or Desert Canyon

Parks

While Riverwalk Park, Don Morse and Manson Bay Park are the valley's most apparent and well-visited parks, several other hidden gems are definitely worth experiencing.

The Beebe Springs Natural Area is located on the Columbia River, just outside Chelan. Over 200 acres of wetland, upland, and cliff or talus habitats line a mile of the river’s shoreline. This habit conservation started in 2008 and provides more than 4 miles of trails and family fun!

Chelan River (Reach 1), technically considered a hiking trail, connects to downtown Chelan’s Riverwalk Park but overlooks the Chelan Dam and River. That’s right! Lake Chelan has its own river, which connects the lake’s runoff to the Columbia River. It will most definitely be roaring this spring as the valley warms up and the ample amount of snow we received this winter begins to melt.
